Re: Guest Wireless Access to Internet

you won't be able to block or restrict from the server. You'll have to do
that from the router. I've setup a separate Wireless Access Point connected
off my outside router for guests to use.

I need to give someone access to the internet from their laptop, but
want to restrict what they can do.
My system is set up with a broadband connection into a Draytek Vigor
2600 router into the first NIC on my SBS 2003 server. The 2nd
(internal) NIC goes to a hub with a Linksys Wireless Access Point
connected to one of its ports. The Access Point has WPA encryption
applied.
The particular PC I want to give access to the net is running XP Home,
so will not be able to join the domain.
My 2 questions are:
1) Can I just connect to the Access Point and allow him access to the
web.
2) I would ideally like to restrict what can be downloaded, as I know
this person uses Utorrent and Limewire to download music through
Peer-Peer filesharing sites, and I'd like to block that if possible
(I'm not convinced of the legality and I don't want to make myself
liable for any illegal activities through my Internet Connection).
Any/all advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks
