Server is SBS2K3 SP1 Premium (without ISA, SQL).
All clients had been running Office 2000 supplemented by Outlook 2003
from the SBS ClientApps share.
Customer has opted to upgrade Office 2000 to Office 2003 Pro and that
has gone well. The installation source for Office 2003 Pro is at pre
SP1 level. I also have the SP2 CD.
One network client has a problem with Office 2003 SP2 however. It
reports that the Outlook 2003 source doesn't match the installed
product.
Exact error messages are:
"The installed product does not match the installation source(s).
Until a matching source is provided or the installed product and
source are synchronized, this action can not be performed."
"The path
\\server\ClientApps\Outlook2003\OUTLS11.msi cannot be found. Verify
that you have access to this location and try a gain, or try to find
the installation package 'OUTLS11.msi' in a folder from which you can
install the product Microsoft Office Outlook 2003."
I verified that the installation source is there, it's in the right
place, etc. Then, I "repaired" Outlook 2003. Still no luck.
I have the complete SP2 CD but I am reluctant to use the FULL FILES
option since I now have MSOCache on the HDD.
However, until I can solve this issue, I can't install the service
pack on this particular client. All other clients (8) have been
updated successfully so far.
Does anyone have a suggestion that will recover this properly?
Office 2K7 is NOT an option.
Thanks in advance
.
