Hello Everybody,I think your problem will be solved by now, but to clear up one point,
For hours I've been messing with an issue which baffles me.
For a client with an SBS 2003 with not an active domain name yet, I tried to use the pop3 connector to get some mail going.
I did all the settings for a few users like emailserver, port, username, password.
Type of postbox I used postbox of users, and i chose a mailbox.
I also configured that the undelivered mails should be sent to this same mailbox.
Also configured the SMTP-connector.
Sending out mails goes super, no probs. But receiving mails back keeps failing.
At first I thought that it was because some ports were blocked, but after some router/firewall tweaking I tried using outlook express on the SBS server and that worked.
Then I found out somewhere here in the forum the next folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Networking\POP3\Incoming Mail
After sending an external mail. It ended up here. However after a bit it disappeared from there, but not in the users mailbox.
My question is, what goes wrong with the forward of the POPmails to the mailboxes, and what can I do to solve this issue.
Many thanks in front, and by the way, I know SMTP is better ;-)
you don't need any ports open on anything at the SBS end to collect POP3
mail, as that is an outgoing connection (unless you have ISA, which you
clearly don't).
