Hi Nick,
Thanks for your reply.
I am sorry to know the problem persist.
I researched the phrased C of the log and also consulted MS Support
Escalation Engineer. Please do the following:
Step 1: Reregister the dlls.
1. Open a command prompt.
2. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\fax> regsvr32
/u
faxcfgc.dll
3. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\fax> regsvr32
faxcfgc.dll
4. Now, re-run the Fax Configuration Wizard
Step 2: Uninstall and reinstall the fax component.
1. Deleted the keys and files below and registry keys
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fax
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Fax
- C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\fax
- The 'SBSMIS-FAX.log'file under 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Integration\Windows
Small Business Server 2003\Logs'.
- The 'SBSMSI-faxcfg.log'file under 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Integration\Windows
Small Business Server 2003\Logs'.
- The 'faxsetup.log'file under 'C:\WINDOWS\'.
2. Access Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck 'Fax
Services' to uninstall it.
- Once it was uninstalled we Reboot the server.
- Access Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components to reinstall
Fax
service again.
Step 3: Uninstall and then reinstall SBS 2003 Sp2 to make sure all the Fax
files are up to date.
I am looking forward to hear from you.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Best regards,
Robert Li(MSFT)
