RE: Installation of SBS 2003 SP1 Failed on Networking

Hi Geoff,

Thanks for posting here.

From the description, I understand the issue is that you fail to install
Windows Small Business Server 2003 Service Pack 1 from remote place. If I
am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Let us refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

It is possible due to the update wanted all the SBS components to be
installed and did not go in successfully until Outlook, Internet Explorer
and Networking components were installed.

So Please try to install all the components with the help of the SBS
integrated setup. After all the components were installed, the installation
of Kb885918 should be successful.

If issue persists,Please help me collect the following information for
analysis:

1. The KB885918.log file in %SystemRoot%.

2. The log files in the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Integration\Windows
Small Business Server 2003\Logs" folder.

3. MPSReport - run the MPSReport utility and send the output CAB file to me
at v-jaluo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx The MPSReport utility is available at:
