Hi Colin,
Thanks for upating.
You are right. Please install the SQL program to C. Also store the SQL log
files to C.
Please store the SQL database to RAID 5.
If you have any questions about this issue, please don't hesitate to let me
know.
Best regards,
Robert Li(MSFT)

<> Hi Colin,
<>
<> Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.
<>
<> The major difference in performance between RAID 1 and RAID 5 is that
RAID
<> 5 experiences heavy write overhead because additional parity data has to
<> be
<> created and written to the array. This is overhead that RAID 1 does not
<> experience. Because of this, write performance on RAID 1 is generally
much

<>
<> SQL log files, by their nature, are mostly written to, which means that
<> often RAID 1 is your best choice for performance. And then you need to
<> locate the data files on RAID 5 which has better security.
<>
<> Hope the information helps.
<>
<> If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know
