Re: VPN Issues With VPN Connectoid In VISTA
Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance
I connect from my home Vista to my SBS over VPN all the time, so I know it
works as it should. The one thing I've run into is that the built-in Vista
firewall (probably) and the OneCare firewall (definitely) block GRE
(protocol 47) by default. I'd start by checking the firewall settings on
the Vista box to make sure anything related to VPN is enabled. Just check
the Advanced settings, and if it still doesn't work, turn on the firewall
logging and see what's what.
Failing that, I'd just check all the settings in the connectoid, and/or
create a new one using all defaults.

I have a client who is now using Vista in a Windows SBS 2003 environment
with
the VPN connectoid, and is having problems with graying out of fields
within
the connectiod. Specifically the connect button.
Is there any explanation of this or a known issue yet with MSFT?
Is there patches available for this?
Thanks for any help given.
