Re: sbs 2003 doesn't start after sp1/2

Ok so no safe mode, what about Recovery Console can you boot to that? If
not present can you install it from the SBS CD.

Update.sys - I have seen this before on plain Win2k3 where service pack 1
(and we assume probably SP2) version of \Windows\System32\Drivers\Update.sys
causes this reboot. The solution is to replace it with a pre-SP1 version.
Various methods of doing this, Recovery Console, swap HDD to another machine
to gain access or NTFS compatible boot utility like BartPE.

One final, unlikely, possibility - Power supply; again have seen instances
of this reboot cycle caused by a faulty PSU, although why this should happen
after installing the service pack I don't know.

Hope something eventually helps,
Nick

Just a blank screen, no verbose lines at all, after that it just
restarts.

How far do you get if you try safe mode? It should list each driver as
it
loads and you can then see what the last driver to load before the reboot
is.

I've newly installed my sbs 2003 server system. It works fine until I
do an upgrade to service pack1 or service pack2 after that my system
keeps restarting the pc every time it try's to start windows again,
even while trying to load the safe mode. What can I do. What could be
the problem?
Any help would be great.
