WSUS 3.0 Question

Scored a new customer running SBS 2003 STD, the previous IT support guy had
installed WSUS 2.0 but never configured it, so it never worked. (Apparently
he was doing manual updates as the server's control panel applet "Auto
Updates" settings were greyed out.) He then installed Windows Server SP2 on
the box (as far as I can work out SBS 2003 is not the R2 release).
Question - can I overwrite this WSUS 2.0 install wuth WSUS 3.0, or do I need
to roll-back SP2, then WSUS 2.0, The April 2007 WhitePaper doesn't seem to
apply?
Thanks for all and any replies.
