doucettea@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx says...
I will, however, tell you which devices I have personally used and which
I know work:
* LinkSys WRT54g v2 thru v4 or WRT54gL. (These are the Linux-based
versions of the WRT54g.)
Reconfiguring a wireless router to be a WAP is trivial:
* Set the router's static LAN IP appropriate to the LAN addressing plan.
* Disable the router's DHCP server.
* Do NOT plug anything into the WAN/Internet jack - put a piece of
electrical tape over it if necessary!
Does anyone have a suggestion about how I should do this? I've completed the
2 steps above.
Ari:
I posted the preceding information. As Cris says, if you have followed these
instructions, your wireless router is configured to work as a WAP. [You still
need to configure the wireless settings for your network - SSID, security, etc.
- on the device. The instructions I posted only describe how to reconfigure a
wireless router to work like a WAP.]
Is something not working? Do you have additional questions or need help with
something else?
