It all looks to be a problem with the temporary server - no surprise
:-) - as dcdiag is reporting errors. Here's the output from the
Temporary server (pasted below).

I really hope I don't have to start again. I waited a good hour for
replication etc, and I got the "GC publishing" (1119?) message.

Yes. Replication didn't complete. No NetLogon, No Sysvol.

You'll need to back up. Suggest waiting for Jeff to verify how far
back you'll need to go.

Nightmare, thought that might be the case.

No point waiting for Jeff, it's 23:04 here and I'm tired. I might just
as well format the temp machine and start the whole lot again
unfortunately. What a PITA.

And I thought Swing was easy :-)

Oh well, I'll head back to the site tomorrow morning with a clean
install and add to the domain again. I take it the appearacne of
sysvol is the key? The Swing docs suggest that it's the appearance of
DNS entries which signal completion.

Jim

Netlogon adds the final DNS entries after sysvol. It's a chain of events
that must happen for any successfull DC.

( I use DCDiag as a measure of a successfull DC, standalone SBS or anywhere
else. There's also a few other snags, but if dcdiag passess those can be
fixed)
