Re: Exchange Calendar Issue

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Many thanks
Tried lots of different fixes but what seemed to do the trick was
defragmenting the public folder database
Fingers crossed !

Hi Mike,

Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.

From your description, I know that randomly user creates the appointment
which isn't saved and you get EXCDO 8239, 8206 on SBS server. If I am
off-base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

First, the problem appears randomly. This may be complex than expected and
maybe time consuming. Thanks for your understanding.

Please let me know the following to make the situation more clearly:

1. Do all users or some specific users have this problem?
2. Is the same behavior is observed through Outlook Web Access?

Step 1: These Errors could be due to any of the reasons mentioned below-

1) Date mismatch for calendar items.
2) Time mismatch for calendar item.
3) Meeting itself being deleted from the calendar. etc.

These EXCDO errors are taken care by the server itself and can be safely
ignored

Step 2: Make sure your antivirus software to exclude the Exchange
directory
structure from file-level scanning. Please also check the registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\VirusScan
And selected the following and changed the value to 0
BackgroundScanning
Enabled
ProactiveScanning

Step 3: Use Isinteg.exe to fix the Pub1.edb database and the Priv1.edb
database. The Isinteg.exe utility runs a test on all areas of each of the
databases and reports
the results. Isinteg.exe also tries to fix any issues that are
encountered.

Please run the command:

C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\BIN>isinteg -s (servername) -fix -test alltests

For more information, please refer to:

Exchange Command-Line Parameters for the Isinteg.exe Tool
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/301460/en-us

Step 4: Please run outlook /cleanfreebusy switch on problematic clients,
will the problem reoccur?

Hope the information helps.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)
