Re: Workstation Locked out!

Well prior to running connect computer there was only one user and no
password on the local system.

hmmm? Nothing worse than istalling O.S. on legacy systems. Drivers are a
B****!

I don't think I ever saw that before (not being able to log on locally). I
would have asked if you are sure that use a correct id and password but I
assume you are (I mean the id and the password for the local computer, not
the domain).

I'm afraid that the solution is a reinstallation of the O/S

Thanks, I know what I should be able to do but it does not allow login to
local computer, that is my point. Unable to login to domain, unable to
login
to local computer, unable to login either way from normal boot or
safemode.
I have tried every possible way I know. I even pulled out the wireless
nic
hoping that the system might somehow re-enable the on board nic and still
no
luck. Even tried installing a PCI NIC with no luck because I can't get
into
the system to configure.

You should be able to connect to the computer locally by using the local
user account and make sure you select the computer name from the drop
down
list box (not the domain name). After that enable the wired network
adapter
(which should have been the one that had to be enabled and the wireless
disabled)

I recently deployed a SBS standard edition network. I'm happy to say
that
all is well except one last piece.

I tried to connect an old XP pro box to the network using the connect
computer wizard. It first stated that I needed to disable a network
card
because it does not work with 2 enabled. I disabled the wired card and
left
the wireless enabled. (probably a stupid move) The connection wizard
began
and seemed to run ok until it rebooted. Now I cannot login. It will
not
accept the local or admin user and keeps telling me that it is not
connected
to the network. I also cannot login to the local computer.

So if I cannot get into the system how can I re-configure the NIC's or
more
importantly how can I continue with the connect computer installation??

Thanks in advance for any help!
