Thanks for your reply , yes the person wasnt safely removing the usb
drive,
so this issue is now ok
2nd issue is,
but the client hdd was 7gb two days ago with 7 gb free, now its got only
450mb free space on it, i thought this might be of "shadow copying " of my
docs on client pc , but i checked that it is stored on the server , so i
really am baffled why this xp pc hdd is getting so full, the client saves
everything in her "my documents folder" which is redirected to the server
,
so i am at a total loss on this point, any idears would be very greatful,
thanks Greg

Hi,
Thanks for posting in our newsgroup and also for Merv's input.
Please let me know the following to make the situation more clearly:
1. You said "server seems to be filling up the clients hdd fo some reason.
" I suspect the server saves information on a client workstation's hard
disk. Am I right?
2. HarddiskVolume6 is on SBS server or on the problematic workstation?
Based on my experience, sometimes, the SBS alert mistakenly reports that
there is 0 MB free space when there might actually be plenty of free
space.
Please take the following steps:
1. Check the volume in Disk Management to see if it shows a file system
type in the File System column.
2. If the volume was known to previously have a file system, try rebooting
the server. The check the file system again.
3. If this is a new drive/volume that never had a file system, or there is
nothing on the drive to preserve, try formatting the drive with a file
system (NTFS, for example).
Also, the problem maybe caused by interchanging two different USB hard
drives
To resolve this:
1) To reboot the system
2) To ignore the critical event in server management console for
monitoring, As the behavior is appropriate if changing USB hard drives
Hope the information helps.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Best regards,
Robert Li(MSFT)
