Hello Guy,

What does this Event mean:-

Q1.>What problem does this event indicate?
That an index in the database is corrupt. Lost flushes caused by hardware,
unschedued reboots / power outages, crashes by LSAS are possible sources of
index
corruption.

Q2.>What does the # after "NTDS" mean (604 in the sample above)?
Process ID or PID of the server that owns the DB that was corrupted

All an all it seems that there is a corruption in Active Directory
We will have to run a defrag on the databases...

Please go through the following article:-
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258062

Summary of the article:-
Boot the server in DSRM (Directory Service Restore Mode)
Go to :- C:\Windows\NTDS - Backup all the files there..
After that delete all the log files Except ntds.dit
Open Command Prompt
Go to C:\Windows\NTDS:\>esentutl /p "c:\windows\ntds\ntds.dit"
Hit Enter
After finishing the process
Reboot the server

Let me know the status after that.

Hi all,

I'm running a SBS2003 premium with SP1 ( no R2 ) . Since a while we are
getting this error in the Directory Service event viewer:

Source : NTDS ISAM
Category : Database Corruption
Event ID : 467

NTDS (1072) NTDSA: Index INDEX_00020078 of table datatable is corrupted
(0).

I've contacted MS and they provided a hotfix based on KB article 902396.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902396

I installed the hotfix, and rebooted the server, eventhough that was not
necessary.

The error still remains and nothing has changed....

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem ? Or what might be the
cause of this error ?

TIA !

regards,
Guy
