Hi John,
Before we can go further,Please let me know how do you access the shared
resource,by network neighbour or UNC path?
* network neighbour
It is really weird,Please go to client A
1.run \\ip of B client,what's the result?
* Displays the pc as ip address under network places and in fact I was able
to connect to the printer from here (using ip address).
* Still can not browse using pc name although I can see the name under MS
Windows Network->Domain.
2.ping ip of B client,what's the result?
* Ping <ip address> works
* Ping <machien name> does not
I suspect it is most likely due to the wrong name resolution on client A.
If you can access by IP address,Please run the following command on client
A.
Ipconfig/flushdns
Ipconfig/registerdns
If issue persists,Please run Ipconfig/all >c:\ipconfig.txt on both client
A
and B,and send me the two txt file at v-jaluo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
* Files sent separately.
* Printer is now working using the ip address but not the machine name as is
usual. It would be great if machine name could work too.
* Thanks
Regards
.
