SBS backup notification is driven by event log through healthmon
actions. Almost everything should be writting an event to the
eventlog - succss or fail. Check for the appropriate event log entry
and build a custom healthmon event and action for your third party
backup program.

Lewis said he is using NTBackup directly, not a 3rd-party program.
I'm sure it's possible to do what you say - I've used healthmon
myself for some things - but for US$147 (one time) BackupAssist
provides a LOT of capability beyond just notification (e.g., mixed
full/differential schedules, integration with the SBS daily
Performance Report). I used to write scripts for that sort of thing,
but I can't justify billing customers for that any more given that
it's built-in to BackupAssist.

btw, Owen I haven't forgot about the Linksys new model review I
promised you. Just been swamped. This afternoon had to swap out a
brand new wrt54g (v8) that keeps locking up.

Thanks! So far, I'm still sticking with the WRT54GL - I'm installing
one for a client this Friday. The LinkSys firmware works well (now
includes WPA2), and what's possible with the DD-WRT SP2 open source
firmware is almost unbelievable!

Ah, misread the third party portion.

Finding some disturbing information about the current Linksys wrt54g
versions but the open source firmware does look promising enough to perhaps
keep me reselling Linksys. Also considering switching.
I've been aware of the GPL code for some time, but so far not put forth the
effort.

Are you putting the new one in with stock firmware or DD-WRT's?
