Re: Exchange misbehaving:

Hi Anna,

I myself created an A name entry - mail.push4.com with IP and an MX record for my server, I had my hosts check my changes and they are all like "everything is fine with our stuff it has to be your server". The domain is not hosted with the ISP but that wouldnt really matter, would it?

What do you mean by ptr (pointer)? are you refering to reverse DNS? Is it something out of my hands to configure?

I have seen the dnsreport site and another (dnsstuff i think), I mentioned it to my host who said that i dont stricktly need the stuff that is highlighted @ those sorts of sires, guess i need to complain!

Many thanks Anna for all your help and efforts over the weekend with all my questions!

Billy there is no MX record for push4.com available on the internet.

Nor is there a ptr record.

there are a few other problems...

go to www.dnsreport.com

to check for yourself.

Ask your ISP to do it again.

Then keep after them until all the red entries are stopped.

Anna

Thanks!

Does anybody have any ideas as to why I can send email from client
systems via exchange but can not receive mail back?

I am a little stumped @ this, any suggestion would be very much
appreciated!

Post your domain name, & mention whether you're using the POP connector, and whether you configured Exchange using the CEICW & providing the domain name therein.
