RE: Migrate WSS 2.0 site to 3.0 (on another server?)

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for posting here.

From the description, I understand the issue is that you want to migrate
WSS 2.0 on SBS 2003 to WSS 3.0 on another standard 2003 server. If I am off
base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

I think you had better perform your options 2,set up a clean sharepoint 3.0
and then migrate content database.please refer to the following KB article.

How to move a WMSDE content database that resides on a Windows SharePoint
Services 2.0 server to a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 server
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925190/en-us

option 3,do a side-by-side installation on SBS server, please refer to the
following KB and whitepaper.

How to install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 side-by-side with Windows
SharePoint Services 2.0 on a computer that is running Windows Small
Business Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928095/en-us
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=77404

option 1,do an upgrade installation,It should be fine, but more complex.

Regarding the content database migration,it is best for you to post it to
WSS newsgroup. We recommend posting appropriately so you will get the most
qualified pool of respondents, and so other partners who regularly read the
newsgroups can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction
with us.

Have a nice day!
