I am having to reboot my SBS 2003 daily ;
Every once in a while now when I log on remotely - I get a message that
the username and domain are incorrect.
If you are logging on remotely, how are you doing this? Are you using RDC
(remote desktop connection)? Are there any trust relationships defined for
the server? I ask because for my servers I don't get the opportunity to
change the domain to anything else.
Do you have any errors or warnings in the application or system event logs
that might be relevant?
I then have to power cycle the server at the power switch (I am suer this
is not a good thing) and everything is fine till the next day or so.
Is this because you don't have a keyboard and monitor attached? As a general
rule, don't cycle the power. If you have to restart then do it gracefully by
telling it to shutdown. You may be loosing or corrupting data and files by
cycling the power.
I don't have a monitor at the server so I can't see log in at the console
but I guess I am going to have to do that now.
I have upgraded to SP2.
Also when I log off the process is stuck as the system tries to end the
program OSA.EXE - what is this?
According to google, osa.exe is a process used by MS Office. I've not had
this as a problem but this sounds more like a problem with office than with
SBS so it might be worth asking this part of your question in an office
related newsgroup.
