Re: Standard / Default SBS 2003 R2 Service Settings

Hi, Regular=Daily and Crash=Unscheduled Restart.

Here are the last four unscheduled restart event logs. They mean nothing to
me. The logged events before and after appear completely different each time.
(I've been to the MS help page and there's nothing there that I can use.)

Er... any pointers about the default / standard services?

Hi Marcus,

It's certainly not trivial, but you'll need to post more information.

Please define "crash".
Please define "regularaly".

What is the observed status of the server when it is in a "crashed" state?
What steps do you take to recover?

Please copy/paste the event log errors that occur immediately prior to
and/or after the "crash",

I've got an HP Proliant ML150G3 running SBS 2003 (Standard) R2. It also
has
Symantec Groupware Antivirus, Quarantine Agent, Symantec LiveUpdate and
Symantec Reporting Agent.

This server crashes regularly.

I need to know which services should be "automatic", "manual" and
"disabled". I've looked at the article;

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829623

which deals with SBS 2003 but I don't know if things have changed for R2
and
whether there's a difference for Standard and Premium.

Oh, I've searched this TechNet site and can't find an answer to this,
hence
the post. Sorry if it's a bit trivial.

Regards, Marcus
