Hello Pavel,.
Thank you for posting here.
According to your description, I understand that your IE and administration
console do not work after you uninstall McAee antivirus system from SBS
2003. If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me
know.
First, I have to set expectation. The problem is cause by uninstallation of
McAee antivirus system. The uninstallation may delete many system files
from SBS, the system may corrupted by the action. I'm not sure the
following steps can recover the whole system. If we can not resolve the
issue, you may need to restore your SBS from the backup or reinstall your
SBS.
Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can
resolve this issue:
As we know, administrative console relies on IE. Actually, it opens
internal web pages in the right frame. Therefore, we have to recover IE
first.
Step 1: Please try to download and install IE7 to recover your IE problem:
Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows Server 2003 SP1 or Windows Server
2003 SP2
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=BC327D94-4F2C-481F-
8595-FA5B90B11BFC&displaylang=en
Then, test your IE, OE and consoles issue, if the issue persists, please go
to the step 2:
Step 2: To reinstall management consoles in SBS 2003, follow these steps:
1. Log on as an administrator to your SBS 2003 computer.
2. Insert Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 CD-ROM 1 into your
computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
3. Click Start, and then click Run.
4. In the Open box, type the path of the Setup.exe file on the SBS 2003
CD-ROM 1, and then click OK. Alternatively, click Browse, navigate to the
Setup.exe file on SBS 2003 CD-ROM 1, click Open, and then click OK.
5. In the Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 Setup Wizard, click Set Up
Windows Small Business Server.
6. On the Welcome to Microsoft Windows Small Business Server Setup page,
click Next.
7. On the Setup Requirements page, click Next.
8. On the Windows Configuration page, click Next.
9. On the Component Selection page, click the down-arrow next to Server
Tools in the Action list, and then click Maintenance.
10. In the Action list, click the down-arrow next to Administration, and
the click Reinstall.
11. Click Next, and then on the Components Summary page, click Next.
12. On the Finishing Your Installation page, click Finish.
13. Click OK to restart your computer.
14. Log on as the administrator to complete the installation.

If we can not resolve the issue after we perform the above steps, please
kindly help me collect some information for further investigation:
1. Please capture screenshots on the console window and send the pictures
to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
2. Please capture screenshots on the IE error messages and send the
pictures to me at v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
3. Save the application event log and system event log as evt files on the
problematic machine and send to my mailbox: v-terliu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hope these steps will give you some help.
Thanks and have a nice day!
Best regards,
Terence Liu(MSFT)

| Hi,
| Recently I've encountered a very weird error. Previous system admin
| performed an erroneous uninstall of McAfee Antivirus system, which led to
| number of popup messages on every use of IE, Outlook Express and similar
| programs. I made a 'hard' uninstall of the McAfee thing (as described at
| http://stuff.mit.edu/people/bbrids/virus.html ), and since than many of
| functionalities of IE do not work, which really cripples the Server
| Administration console (buttons do not work, I'm really unable to do a
single
| setting now). IE can't be reinstalled, because it has messed up it's
version
| information (dialog "Help > About" doest'n show version number at all),
and I
| can't see any way out now. I'd really appreciate help on how to reinstall
a
| really badly misshaped Internet Explorer in Windows 2003. Tnaks in
advance,
| Pavel
