Hi,
Thanks for posting in our newsgroup and also for Les's input.
From your description, I know that when you visit companyweb, you get http403 error. If I am off-base, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Please let me know the following to make the situation more clearly:
1. Do all users or some specific users have the problem?
2. Where did the problematic user visit companyweb, from Internet, LAN or
SBS server?
3. When you visit on the SBS server, will the same issue occur?
Please take the following steps to see if the problem can be resolved:
Step 1: Please take your time to rerun CEICW wizard. This wizard helps to
configure network and website correctly.
To do this:
1. Click Start, click Server Management. Click To Do List and then click
"Connect to the Internet". Click Next, and go through the Internet option.
2. Select Enable firewall and click Next.
3. On the Web Services Configuration page shows, select item according to
your environment. Click Next.
4. On the Web Server Certificate page shows. Select "Create a new Web
server certificate", and type your FQDN (mail.domain.com) in the "Web
server name" text box. Click Next.
IMPORTANT: The FQDN that you type in the "Web server name" box must be the
same name that you use to connect to the Web site from the Internet. For
example, if the URL that you use to connect to the RWW is
https://server.contoso.com/remote, type "server.contoso.com" (without the
quotation marks) in the "Web server name" box. If you use
http://ipaddress/remote to access RWW, type the public IP address in the
"Web server name".
5. Go through the steps to finish the wizard.
For more information, please refer to:

2003

Step 2: This issue could happen if you have customized you IIS settings or
some third-party applications change it. I will give you the suggestions to
check the settings But if the problem could not be resolved, we may need to
reinstall the companyweb.
1. Open server management and navigate to IIS manager
2. Expanded Web Sites folders
3. Under Web Sites, right click on companyweb and select Properties
4. On Web Site tab, at IP Address, "All Unassigned" is the correct setting
5. Port should be 80 and 443 (SSL)
6. On Home Directory tab, please confirm Application Pool is
MSSharePointAppPool
7. On Directory Security tab, please click on the first Edit button in the
Authentication and access control area, only Windows Integrated
Authentication should be checked.
Then, Please Expand Application Pool under IIS manager. Right click on the
MSSharePointAppPool under the Application Pool and select Properties. Go
to Identity tab and verified it is logon as Local System
If the problem persists, please help me collect the MPS Report for further
research:
1. The exact error massage in IE brower, since there are many kinds of
403.x codes.
2. Metabase
1) Install .NET Framework Version 1.1:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-
8157-034d1e7cf3a3&DisplayLang=en.
2) Install MBExplorer by installing IIS 6 Resource Kit Tools:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=56FC92EE-A71A-4C73-
B628-ADE629C89499&displaylang=en.
3) Once it is installed, access it from Start, Programs, IIS Resources,
Metabase Explorer.
4) In the left pane, right click ''LM'' (under your server computer name)
to choose ''Export to file'', and then save it as IIS.mbk.
5)Compress this mbk file and send it to me for analysis.
3. IIS logs
1) Open IIS.
2) Locate Default web site. Right-click it and then click Properties.
3) Click to selected Enable logging and then click properties.
4) Click Advanced.
5) Click to select every checkbox here.
6) Click OK to close these windows.
7) Reproduce this issue and send the %systemroot%\System32\LogFiles to me
Please send me the information to v-robeli@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with subject:

I am looking forward to hear from you.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.
