Hi
We have an webserver on witch we are running a site that has a SSL protected
creditcard payment site.
I am now presented the task of creating a new test site on the same server
with its own SSL certificate, so i ordered a new freeSSL test certificate
with RapidSSL and installed it on the site. This resulted in the shutdown of
the normal site and the test site was using the certificate of the normal
site.
How do i run 2 SSL secured sites on the same server with different
certificates, cant IIS use Host header "routing" on the SSL port or do I have
to have a new SSL port pr site
hope somebody can help me
Regards Jens
I accomplished this by assigning an additional private IP to the
server (I only had one nic) and mapping a public IP to the new one on
the server. When you create the new website on IIS you set it to
listen to the new IP on the server and then assign new certificates in
the document security. I had the server's CA issue certificates for
the new test website and it worked like a charm; after that I just
installed the certificates from the CA without a problem.
Hope that helps.
Andres
