First, don't install SP2. It doesn't play nice with SBS.
I would wipe the box and fully install SBS with SP1. Afterwards run Windows
Update. Install all (except SP2 we hide it so it doesn't show up anymore),
reboot and run Windows Update again to make sure you have everything. Then
switch to Microsoft Update and do the same. With this order we haven't
experienced a single problem.

I am trying to install SBS2003 Premium so that I can test DPM 2 beta but am
having all kinds of problems. Right now after running SQL update for
Sharepoint It has lost connection with the companyweb sight and supporting
databases. Other problems have occured in previous attempts to set up SBS
2003-------So I am beginning to think that the order of applying all the
updates for all the SBS elements is extremely critical So we have SBS
SP1---server SP2----SHAREPOINT SP2----Exchange sp?-- etc. And then all the
security updates from Update and the vista updates and ISA 2004 updates
and
on and on--- So what is the definative order of updating for SBS 2003 and
all
of its elements????????????????????????????????????
