Just to be clear it is not supported with the Office 2007 version.
It is supported with the Office 2003 version and there is a KB article and a
patch that must be applied

OK, thanks Robert. I suspected that was the case. It seems one of those
strange juxtapositions though, which are bound to happen when a company
has
so many products. The functionality provided by BCM would be extremely
useful
to my clients (typical SBS clients) but isn't compatible with Exchange.
Do you know if this is planned with Exchange 2007 ? If not, how do I point
this out to Microsoft and suggest it ?

Hi Mick,
Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.
I am sorry for the delay response due to the weekend.
From your description, I know that you want to use Office Business
Contact
Manager with SBS Exchange. If I am off-base, please don't hesitate to let
me know.
Outlook with Business Contact Manager must be used in combination with a
POP3, IMAP, and HTML e-mail server. Outlook with Business Contact Manager
is not enabled when it is used in combination with Microsoft Exchange
Server or Microsoft Small Business Server configured for MAPI-based
e-mail.
We do not support the Business Contact Manager combination with Exchange
for MAPI account, so it is not possible to use Business Contact Manager
and
contacts in Exchange Public Folders. For more information, please refer

Manager

Hope the information helps.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

<Hi all,
<
<I just wondered how people see the use of Office Business Contact
Manager
<versus SBS Exchange ?
<
<As a long-time user of Exchange I have always heartily recommended
<centralising storage of business contacts under a central public folder.
I
<can then use this to pull out mailing lists etc and the team can manage
their
<contacts as part of the central exchange database.
<
<However, I've recently moved to Office 2007 and as part of that I've
taken
a
<look at Business Contact Manager. It has some features I like, not least
the
<ability to manage opportunities and pipelines but also the ability to
create
<marketing campaigns and monitor leads and win rates coming from those
<campaigns.
<
<I know that BCM stores it's data in a SQL Database, but I doubt that it
can
<map onto the Exchange store. I certainly haven't seen anything implying
that.
<
<So - is there a way of using the BCM functionality against Exchange
contacts
<? Will Exchange 2007 include the equivalent functionality ?
<
