Re: Applying SBS SP1 at this late date

Hello Chris,

Thank you for kind update.

I'm glad to hear that things are working correctly for you now.

I'm sorry for the unclear description, however, the "no need" is not
mistake. I write it again:

If you had already installed Exchange server 2003 sp2 on the SBS before you
install SBS 2003 sp1, you do not need to uninstall exchange sp2 before you
install SBS sp1. You can just jump over the exchange sp1 installation step
in the document.

Please do not hesitate to post in this great newsgroup if you need any
assistance in the future. I look forward to working with you again.

Thank you and have a nice day,

Best regards,

Terence Liu(MSFT)

|
| Is that a you "don't" need to uninstall Exchange SP2 and Sharepoint
| updates, or you "do"? I think you "no" need to uninstall it may be a
| typo....
|
| I had to move on this before I had a definitive response, so I imaged
| the server as per an earlier post and just tried the SBS SP1 update. I
| ended up having to install "Windows XP SP2 for Client Deployment" (the
| SBS update would error if it was not installed) and then the SBS SP1
| installed OK. The only issue was with sharepoint, some issue with ASP
| sercurity due to version change to 2.0. I googled this and fixed it as
| per MSFT KB. Server seems to be fine, has been running OK since. I still
| have that image in case we see problems further down the line.
|
| Thanks again for your help, any other recommendations are welcome!
