Your welcomed Bob. For future references in case you need to do it again the
registry key deletes and port 'adjustments' are a key step to the procedure.
Glad to see you are back up and running again.

Success though the error message I got was different than what the
instructions told me I would get. However I did follow through and added
the
necessary KB because of the 'error' I would get using the 'original disk'.
It worked and now SPS is working.
Thanks.

I've given up trying to apply a service pack to this SBS until I can
get
to
the site and rebuild the OEM version of SBS2003.
But I need to get SPS working. I tried to reinstall it by
'uninstalling'
it, removing the virtual server, removing the Application pool and any
other
reference I can find.
Then I reinstall using the 'maintenance' mode of the setupsbs.exe.
This
seems to work till I then try to configure the configuration database.
I
get
the error stating that the connection can't be made. I look in the
data
folder of the SQLSharepoint directory and there are only the 'usual'
databases.
I'm doing all of this with the built in Administrator account.
Any thoughts?
