I suppose one thing you could look at is the Power Management properties of
the network adapter in the workstation sharing the printer to make sure the
box is not checked for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save
power".

I am having intermittent printer problems when trying to print to
another workstation's printer. When I go to "Printers and Faxes" it
will say it is "Unable to Connect" to the printer. I must then log out
of windows and back on before it will work.
My server is running on SBS 2003 r2.
The workstations are running XP Pro
The printer is an Okidata 420
.
