Re: Publishing folders on companyweb

Well then yes you can do what Terrence suggests but I thought I read that
you didn't want to have to copy data because of the size of the directory in
question.

Hi Terence, hi SBS2K3 Admin.
Thank you for your answer. Actually Terence is on the right track, that's
what I'm trying to get. However I thought about makeing the document
library some kind of virtual folder which would be redirected to folder on
another disk. Or in other words, is it possible to set where the document
library folder will be?

Thanks, Jan

I'm not sure that is what she is looking for. She wants to be able to use
a "shared" network location. She does not want to copy or upload the
documents. Unfortunatley your suggestion will only copy the documents
there and not synchronize and make changes at the original location. She
wants her users to able to access \\servername\sharename from the
companyweb and the only way I can think of is to insert a hyperlink on
the page for \\servername\sharename.

Hello Jan,

Thank you for kind update.

Yes, we can make the documents accessible from Internet. However, we
have
to upload the documents to the document library in companyweb first. We
can
not just give out a link to the share folder to make it accessible from
Internet.

Upload the documents to the document library in companyweb:

1. Please open companyweb, click Documents and Lists in the top.

2. Click one document library name in the Document Libraries list

3. Click Upload Document, browse to the files you want, and upload it.

Then you can access the uploaded documents from Internet.

Note: For more info about document library in companyweb you can post
your
question in WSS newsgroup:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/dgbrowser/en-us/defaul
t.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.sharepoint.design_and_customization

Hope these steps will give you some help.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Terence Liu(MSFT)
