RE: windows sbs authentication problem

Hello Customer,

Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I understand that when John logon
companyweb, the companyweb shows Administrator. If I have misunderstood the
problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Based on my research, I suggest we try the following steps to see if we can
resolve this issue:

1. Please open Server Management console on SBS

2. Locate on Users node, double click John's account in right pane

3. Click Member Of tap, remove Administrators and Domain Admins from the
Member of list.

4. Click OK.

If the issue persists, please perform the following steps:

1. Please open Server Management on SBS

2. Locate on Users node

3. Select the problematic user account, click Change User Permissions link

4. In the Change User Permission Wizard, click Next, select User Template,
click Next.

5. Finish this wizard.

Hope these steps will give you some help.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Terence Liu(MSFT)

| I have a user in our office that is not authenticating correctly.
| They log into their PC as "John" but when they log into our
| sharepoint
| site it shows that they are "Administrator". The user with the
| problems is the owner so I am not so much worried about him seeing
| things he shouldn't be. I am also seeing the authentication problem
| in other applications. We use Windows Authentication to log into our
| document imaging software and he is also logging in as domain
| \administrator there.
|
| The domain controller is running Windows SBS 2003.
|
| We have tried logging out as "Administrator" and logging in as "John"
| but each time we come back to the site it still thinks the user is
| "Administrator"
|
|
| This is only happening to this one user.
| How can I fix this?
|
|
| Thanks in advance!
