Hi all,
Brief description of the issue I'm investigating if we can do a little
better than we do currently.
Company A - companya.co.uk - based in Edinburgh
Company B - companyb.com - based in Glasgow
MD and myself both need to be able to receive mail to us in the form
firstname.lastname@domain - we're both Edinburgh-based
Both sites currently run SBS2003 Premium for their needs
At present:
Incoming mail for the companyb.com domain is delivered to the Glasgow SBS
box via SMTP - downloaded to the Edinburgh site via POP3 to Outlook 2003.
This way we can hit reply to mail delivered to this domain and it sends
using the POP3 account in Outlook.
Downside:
OWA neither downloads such emails nor allows us to send from the
companyb.com domain
Occasionally, but frequently enough to niggle, we get emails into the
Glasgow server that 'stick' when downloading via POP3 - I realise that this
is likely down to malformed/corrupt POP3 mails but these arrive from a
variety of sources with no obvious common factor [e.g. sometimes from our
accountants who we receive SMTP mail to the companya.co.uk domain no
problem, sometimes from BE - broadband provider - who don't put anything in
the To: or CC: fields]
We'd like to get away from having to download from Glasgow using POP3 and
to - somehow - get things coming into the Edinburgh server and our primary
mailboxes but with the ability to hit reply and have it reply from the
companyb.com domain such mails were sent to.
Anyone got any tips? Googled my head off and don't seem to have found a
conclusive answer.
Thanks,
David
.
