No one can log on remotely...only locally at the host machine. This machine
was upgraded this weekend from W2K to XP Pro...so, that might be a part of
the problem.

Can the domain admin logon? Is there anyone who can logon?.
I suspect that if you check who has permissions for RDP on that machine,
you'll find it doesn't have all the necessary groups, or you didn't ad that
user to the existing permitted groups.

Yes, this is SBS2003 (r2). The target desktop is a domain member with an
assigned port. When using Remote Terminal Console, we address the target
host
in this manner:
xxxx.xxxxxxx.com:#### and click <Connect>
Remote desktop sign-in window pops up and we enter user name of the target
and user's password.
We get a response from the remote machine with its own log-on window
depicting a log-on message with error message saying: "The local policy of
this system does not permit you to log-on interactively."
We have six other desktops setup this way and all respond properly and let
us in with full control over the desktop from the remote.

OK, so you're not using RWW. If I assume the target system is attached to
an
SBS you must in some way be exposing it to the internet, give me
something
to work with.

The user (who has administrative priv) is attempting to make the
connection.
We are not using RWW but XP's Remote Terminal Console over the
Internet.

you
using RWW or another method? (VPN+RDP?)

When attempting to use Remote Terminal Service to an XP machine in
the
office
I am getting the following error message: "The local policy of this
system
does not permit you to log-on interactively."
I have checked the Remote Desktop box on the host desktop. All other
RTS
connections are working fine except to this one desktop.
How and where do I change this policy?
