I did not see ISA blocking DHCP traffic, but I reinstalled SP2 and the
clients are getting their IP address again. Of course I also had to fix the
other built-in design flaws of SP2 for SBS.
Thanks for the suggestions,
John

I recently installed SP2 for SBS 2003 Premium.and for Exchange. Soon after,
as the IP address leases begun to expire, clients could no longer renew
their IP address. Of course, I cannot really attribute SP2 for this
problem, but these symptoms happened days after. I verified cabling, tried
assigning static IPs, etc, but no use. Restarted the server, DHCP, DNS, ran
the ICW, but only the server can connect to the Internet.. The only error I
see in Event Viewer is
Event Type: Error
Event Source: DNS
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4004
Date: 3/27/2007
Time: 1:09:45 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SBSServer
Description:
The DNS server was unable to complete directory service enumeration of
zone GTNConsulting.local. This DNS server is configured to use
information obtained from Active Directory for this zone and is unable to
load the zone without it. Check that the Active Directory is functioning
properly and repeat enumeration of the zone. The extended error debug
information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contains the error.
Any ideas, your help is appreciated.
John
