I do not believe this can be done remotely.

right, image software for me is a good choise, I want to implement sbs
backup
to different hd, raid 1 to system partition C:, and so on, but I want to
clone the server too. I want to this when the server is on and working, I
want to put this image to a different external USB 2.0 hard disk, and have
this external hd only for this work, this hd will be turned on only in the
routine of cloning the sw of the server, expecially system C: partition.
This
hd will be stored in a different location, turned off, in case of a
disaster
recovery, I need a software that can restore quickly, a clone of the
system,
to different raid 1 set, to new hdisks, and if possible to little
different
server, for example, some times, the mb can be damaged, with the on-board
nic, and I need to change the mboard, for this I need to restore the
system
to a little different model of motherboard, with same chipset, same cpu,
same
memory. I need the better solution to do this, expecially a solution that
can
be remotely too, for example I call my office, I say to a tecnician to
keep
the USB 2.0 external HD to the usb port of the server, I log on in
terminal
server administrative mode, I do the job to clone usinga a software
(without
reboting) and then at the end, I say to the technician to disconnect the
external HD and put it in a different safe place. Please help me to find
the
best solution using a software that can do this work, this expecially for
SBS
2003 SERVER with Active directory installed, sharepoint, and so on.
Thanks,
regards. Please only tested solutions for SBS. Regards. Cristian. Now I
will
contact Acronics to find the right solution and to have a trial of it if
possible. Thanks, other helps will be usefull. Cristian.

Hi Cristian,
It kind of sounds like you'e looking for live imaging software? While not
replacements for backup, an image does speed system recovery
considerably.
Live imaging means you can make disk/partition images without restarting
the
server.
There are at least 3 products you can look at - ServerProtect by
Storagecraft, Drive-Backup by Paragon, and Acronis Tru-Image. It's
possible
(with a little work) to restore images to different hardware, and Acronis
has a product for this purpose that might be less work.

Hello from Italy, excuse bad english, sorry, I need to know the best
software
to use to have a sure, easy, usefull, backup and restore of all system
of
a
SBS 2003 sp1 server, I need a software different from the internal SBS
backup, that can do this without restart the server, and that can
restore
easy all the system partition, mirror and so on in an event of hd
failure,
I
listen that exist also a symantec version for SBS that can restore all
system
partition also if different hardware is installed, like change of
