Re: Add exchange to SBS 2003 SP1 with R2

Hi Ron,
Thanks for updating.
I am happy to know the problem is resolved. I'd like the make a summary of
the post.
Problem: You want to install Exchange on the SBS server which doesn't have
Exchange.
Solution: First uninstall the SBS 2003 R2. Then run the wizard to install
Exchange 2003. After that, please apply SBS 2003 R2 again.
For your second question, please understand that our newsgroup is an issue
based service, meaning we usually respond to one question/issue per post.
This will lessen the confusion for both of us, as well as ensure that our
results are accurate and not a result of a test for a different question.
Therefore, it is recommended you create a new thread so that the dedicated
MS engineer can help you on it. Thank you for your understanding!
For future postings, I would like to list the following information as a
guideline when submitting new posts in the future. This information will
help us to understand the issue and situation more quickly. Thank you!
1. Has the server/client/product ever worked?
2. If so, what changed?
3. What service packs and updates were applied?
4. What are the steps to reproduce the problem?
5. Does it happen the same way on any other systems?
6. Please provide the exact error message with any screenshots, if possible.
If you need any assistance in the future, please feel free to post in our
newsgroup.
Have a nice day.
Best regards,
Robert Li(MSFT)

<Robert,
<Yes I installed exchange on Thursday and R2 on Friday and things seem
<to be going well. I was overly pessimistic because of problems with
<SQL. I don't have the Performance Tools and when I try to install
<them it acts like everything is already installed. I have come to the
<conclusion that they just are not there because it is 64 bit hardware.
<Thanks for your help.
