RE: Replication problem on sub-folder

Hi Gixxer,

Thanks for posting here.

From the description, I understand the issue is that file replication are
not completely finished. If I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me
know.

Let us refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Based on my experience, the issue might be a bit complex than it appears.
To troubleshoot

the issue, we usually need to spend quite some time to perform steps to
find the problem

cause due to complexity on technical side. I appreciate your understanding
and cooperation

during the troubleshooting process.

I. Can I assume the Windows 2003 R2 is installed as an additional DC for
SBS 2003 R2? If

so, please do the following:

1. On both domain controllers, stop NetLogon and FRS service by the
following command in

command prompt:
Net Stop NETLOGON
Net Stop NTFRS
2. Delete the Ntfrs.jdb file in the <Windir>\Ntfrs\Jet folder.
3. Delete the Edb.chk file in the <Windir>\Ntfrs\Jet\Sys folder.
4. Delete the Edb.log file, the Res1.log file, and the Res2.log file in the

<Windir>\Ntfrs\Jet\Log folder.
5. On SBS Server, click Start -> Run, type REGEIDT and click OK.
6. Locate and click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NtFrs\Parameters\Backup
/Restore/Process

at Startup
7. On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry
value:
Value name: BurFlags
Data type: REG_DWORD
Radix: Hexadecimal
Value data: D4
8. Restart the NetLogon and FRS services on SBS Server and then on the
additional domain

controller by the following command in command prompt:
Net Start Netlogon
Net Start NTFRS

Then, please check if the issue is fixed.

II. If the issue persists, please try to recreate DFS Share, I suggest you
do the

following:

1.Use DFSUTIL command to remove the DFS Root.
2.Stop the DFS service by tying "net stop dfs" (without the quotation
marks) at a command prompt.
3.Start Registry Editor and delete the following registry keys:
4.Delete the Volumes folder and any subfolders under
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DfsHost.
5.Delete all subfolders under
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DfsDriver\LocalVolumes, leaving
LocalVolumes intact.
6.From the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in, click Advanced
Features on the View menu. Open the DFS-Configuration container under the
System folder. Delete the DFS root in the right pane. Note that the DFS
configuration data can also be removed from the Active Directory using LDAP
or Adsiedit.msc. For a computer in the A.COM domain with a fault-tolerant
DFS root named DFSFT, the LDAP path would be
CN=DFS-Configuration,CN=System,DC=A,DC=COM.
7.Restart the DFS service you stopped in step 1.
8.Remove the following objects in Active Directory by using the
"adsiedit.msc": cn=dfs,cn=12d3f90d-8c51-4d99-8976-bf4fe1313064,cn=dfs
volumes,cn=ntfrs subscriptions,cn=Server,ou=domain
controllers,dc=domain,dc=com
NOTE: The 12d3f90d-8c51-4d99-8976-bf4fe1313064 may be different on your
side.

Then restart DFS Server and DC, check again to see if problem is resolved.

III. If the issue still exits, please do the following and provide me with
the log files:

Please refer to the following article to generate Directory Services
Edition

(Mpsrpt_dirsvc.exe) of MPS report on the SBS Server and on the additional
DC for further

analysis.

(MPS_REPORTS)

You can send the MPS report *.CAB files to me at v-jaluo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
