RE: SBS NTBackup VSS Errors

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hello David,

Thank you for kind update.

After analyze your MPS report, I think the issue is exactly with MSSQL$ACT7
instance. As I listed in my last reply, this is not a default MSDE instance
and it is probably introduced by third-party software. As this software is
not configured to allow SYSTEM account to authenticate, then this issue
appeared.

At the current status, you could either ignore this issue if it does not
affect your normal backup. If you do need to resolve this issue, you may
need to consult the software manufactory and check with them if this
instance could be configured to add System account as administrator and
what the proper steps they suggest to add this account.

Generally, we could use the following steps to add a account into default
database, however, please consult your software vendor for availability of
below steps on their database before you perform them. Otherwise, you may
take your own risk for any data lose on this instance

1. Open SQL Enterprise manager
2. Right click your server and click New SQL server Reiteration.
3. Register MSSQL$ACT7
4. Expand Security->Logins and add "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" to allow access to
this database.
5. Restart the service and test again.

If it could not resolve the issue, you may still need to consult the
database manufactory for more information.

Thank you for your time and effort.

Hope that helps.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best regards,

Terence Liu(MSFT)

| I've checked the settings for the SQL instances and the only one I can't
log

using

| I've emailed the .cab file to your directly.
