Re: direct push

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Not to mention that yours is an SSL push and BES is plain SMTP on insanely
expensive and mandatory RIM software.

Oh, and if its a measured data service, the Blackberry's can rack up the
charges in a hurry.

well I'm not terribly familiar with blackberry...never had one
but with Blackberry...as I understand it...you have to install their
software to make it work and it requires an additional email address

with my WM5 device I don't need anything but Exchange and SP2 and my
device...and its the same email address whether I'm at my desk or on the
road

LOL, this 'direct push' promotion from microsoft is bordering on illegal,

Phone has to initiate connection then (this is their escape goat)
exchange server pushes to mobile, play on words or what! Solicitor client
wanted to pursue the 'direct' part but who can take on Microsoft.

Its just another version of active sync.

Heard all the hype, SP2 launches, geared up clients....... back they went
to Blackberry.

Dont get me wrong Im all for Microsoft but they got this wrong, clients
expected the blackberry concept.

I have a windows mobile 5 device, I followed the setup instructions per
"DeployWM5withSBS2003"

I am confused where do I enter the mobile number of the cell phone so
that
the server can send the notification to for the device to automatically
retrieve emial when mail arrives on the server.

Thanks

Michael
