Re: Shrinking C:\ drive after Tuesday Update

Hmmm, I don't recall during the original SBS setup whether that was separate
or not or whether there were options... Will dig deeper.

Thanks!

Well, I'm using WSUS V2.0, and on the install it gave options on where to
put
the files.

I have WSUS and WSUSdataMSSQL$WSUS on the cheap and cheerful drive, and it
is not backed up. There are no directories on the C:\ drive.

I am pretty certain there are no opportunities to change this once it is
installed. But others may know better ...

If I may interrupt, how does one set the data directory? New install,

thought about this - glad it was brought up prior to a problem!

From my perspective I don't like having the WSUS data on the C:/ drive
since that data can be so large! I also don't want to have to download
it
again if something would happen to the HD so I have that file on a
backup
schedule for every month.

My question would be where is the WSUS data on your server? Is it on
the
C:/ drive or on another drive/partition?

Do you run WSUS and set it up to download service packs? If so,
Server
2003 SP2 probably took the space. I setup WSUS to dump it's file to a
big/cheap IDE drive that I don't bother backing up to avoid space
issues
on C.

My C:\ drive has lost over 1Gb of free space after Tuesdays MS
update.
Am I
alone, or are you all finding this.

Any suggestions over what files are now removably redundant?
