RE: How to share user calendar / set calendar rights ( Multiple users at once )

Hi FS,

Thanks for posting here.

From the description, I understand the issue is that you want to share the
calendars to group A and Administrative Assistants Group in SBS 2k3
network.and you want to assign different calendar permission to two
groups. If I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Based on my knowledge, the best way to share calendar information for all
the users is to use public folder Calendar. After you create the public
folder, you can just copy the calendar information from user's private
calendar to the public one by just drop-drag.

To create a public folder, use the steps below:

Note: To create a public folder, you must have permission to create folders
in an existing public folder.

1.Open Outlook 2003. On the File menu, select New, and then click Folder.
(CTRL+SHIFT+E)

2.In the Name box, enter a name for the folder.

3.In the Folder contains box, click the type of item that you want the
folder to contain. A folder can only contain one type of item. Here I think
you should choose Calendar Item

4.In the Select where to place the folder box, click the public folder in
which you want your new public folder to appear.

5.If you do not want to add a Shortcut for the public folder to your
Outlook Bar, click No in the Add shortcut to Outlook Bar box.

After the pubic folder created, please drag-drop the calendar from user's
private calendar to public folder for sharing.

For your convenience, you could choose different view when you operate on
your calendar folder. You could find the different folder view options at
View -> Arrange By -> Current View.

set the permission for the public folder, please refer to the following
information

a. In the Outlook, please right click the public folder you want to set
permission and click properties
b. In the Permission tab, please click Add to add the user you want to set
permission for this folder
c. In the Permissions panel, please edit the detailed permission for this
user.
d. Click OK to confirm the settings.

you can add the permission for the two groups, you can assign reviewer
permission to group A and publishing editor permission to Administrative
Assistants Group.

After above operations, group A's user could have read right to view all
calendar in public calendar folder.Administrative Assistants Group's user
could have read/write right for all calendar in public calendar folder.

Hope this helps.

I appreciate your time. I am happy to be of assistance and look forward to
your reply.

Have a nice day!
