Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi paul,

Thanks for posting here.

From the description, I understand the issue is that the information store
service can not start after you login the server locally or remotely. If I
am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Let us refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1. check the "Do not mount this store at startup" box in the database tab
of mailbox store property ***. Then attempt to start the msexchangeis.

2. Investigate any Anti Virus solution installed as well as other 3rd party
applications installed. And disable them. and you can perform a clean boot.

a. Click Start, and then click Run.

b. In the Open text box, type MSCONFIG then click OK.

c. On the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab and
click the "Disable All" button to remove the checkmarks from each line in
the list.

d. Then, click the Services tab, add a checkmark to the "Hide All Microsoft
Services" item then click "Disable All".

Note: This disables all third party service items.

e. Click the OK button and restart your computer. Please ensure that all
the third party related services are stopped (services.msc) on the SBS
server.

f. Then please monitor the server to see if it helps.

If issue still occur, you can also try in safe mode.

3. Run the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer

see if it helps:

a. Check Database consistency using Eseutil utility:

Please run eseutil /mh on the database to check if the status of Exchange
databases is OK. You may refer to the following Knowledge Base Article:

b. Run command to verify there is no error/warning. If there is warning
displayed, please repeat the Isinteg command until the number of database
fixes reaches 0 (zero) or does not change.

To do so, please follow the process below:

I. Dismount the Store by right-clicking it in ESM and choose Dismount Store.

II. Open a command prompt window and change the currently directory to
"<system drive>:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Bin".

III. Run the following command:

IV. Follow the instruction to scan the database.

V. Re-run the command in step IV until you found the fixes number is near

persists.

If the issue persists, please help me collect the following information for
analysis:

collect Exchange MPS Report

a. Please download the MPSRPT_Exchange.EXE from the following link and then
run this tool to gather some information from the problematic computer:

b. Double-click on the MPSRPT_Exchange.EXE file.
[Note] This process may take some time; however, it will not have a
negative effect on the performance.

c. A CAB file will be generated in the
%systemroot%\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\Cab directory called
%COMPUTERNAME%_MPSReports.CAB. The CAB file will contain the reports
generated by the MPS Reporting Tool.

d. Please send the result file(CAB file)to me at v-jaluo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
