OK to install SBS 2003 R2 Premium over SBS 2003 Standard?

Hello
I am basically a one-man business working with a couple of freelancers on an
ad hoc project basis.
I currently run an SBS 2003 Standard server that operates mainly as my
exchange server, file share with automated backup to NAS and general
plaything. I am just starting to get the hang of the potential of the
companyweb intranet in order to allow my remote colleagues to communicate
out of hours. Though configuring companyweb so each user can only see their
own live projects is proving a headache. I try to grab time to fiddle as
pressure of work allows.
One of my clients is concerned about the security of my SBS 2003 Standard
server being accessable from the internet - albeit only by using
certificates. They have offered to give me a copy of SBS 2003 R2 Premium
edition in return for some of my time. I understand that Premium edition has
more security features.
Can I just put in the DVD and fire up the installation? Will it recognise
the current SBS Standard and upgrade accordingly? I am concerned that my
current configuration and data (esp. Exchange) will be wiped.
All advice very welcome.
