RE: Subdoman and related email

Thanks Jacky,

Sorry it took me so long to reply.
I will try your suggestions but I think Cris has a VERY valid point. It is
going to create a nightmare for administration.

Hi Liam,

Thanks for posting here.

From the description, I understand the issue is that you want to set up
multiple domain name for email. that means multiple SMTP E-Mail Address. If
I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Let us refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1.If you have 4 email domains, you could handle them by 1 SMTP virtual
server in SBS 2k3 network. Please pay attention to the following comments
regarding this scenario:

The 4 MX records for 4 domains should point to your static public IP. four
email domains will use the same IP address and same port (25) to accept
incoming email by the only SMTP virtual server.

2.Please modify the Default Recipient Policies in Exchange(ESM) to include
four email domains (@sales.my_comapny.com and @support.my_company.com and
@accounting.my_company.com). In addition, please also confirm that the
"automatic update email addresses based on the recipient policy" is checked
in the Email address tab of the users'properties page, so that every user
in your network could get four SMTP addresses to receive mail correctly.

3.go to Active directory users and computers, open the E-mail addresses tab
of user's properties, select the desired smtp address, click "set as primary"
button. such as fred@ accounting.my_company.com to be the primary smtp
address for fred user account. if another user want to be
@sales.my_comapny.com, just select the @sales.my_comapny.com to be the
primary smtp address.

your reply.
