Re: VPN with www domain hosted elsewhere

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

the location of WWW and mail is, basically, irrelevent.

You can point to your IP but people have a hard time remembering IP's, and
you also don't mention whether the IP is static or dynamic. I generally
create a name office.domain.com, hq.domain.com or suburb.domain.com and ask
the DNS hosts to host an A record pointing to this.

You then run the CEICW and you're set.

I have this configuration:
- SBS 2003 Premium R2 server
- Hardware VPN Firewall Router D-Link DFL-700 with static WAN IP address
- Connections: ISP -> WAN.DFL-700.LAN -> NIC1.SBS.NIC2 -> LAN
- WWW internet domain and email boxes are hosted on a hosting provider
Please tell me:
1. How to configure VPN access to SBS server if my www internet domain is
hosted elsewhere?
2. What's the best: router's VPN support, SBS VPN support or both?
Thank you!

Dan
