G: is an important data drive for the company. It contains their program
data for running their Point of Sale software over SQL. It needs to be
backed up. I have, for now excluded this from the SBS backup and we are
going to see how it does over night. Now I could go back and just use
NTBackup to back it up in the future and if it worked out fine then all would
be well. Thank you for your help. Any more would be much appreciated.

I am having problems with a customers Server. It is a Windows SBS 2003
Premium. We are getting Shutdowns overnight on most nights. I have
scanned
the event logs and found that the last application event during every shut
down is beginning the backup of G. Here is the actual log.
Event Type: Information
Event Source: NTBackup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8000
Date: 3/9/2007
Time: 11:18:41 PM
User: N/A
Computer: CHICKSBS
Description:
Begin Backup of 'G:'
Verify: On
Mode: Append
Type: Normal
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
There are no application logs after this event until the next time the
Server is turned on. Then I get an event log that the server has been
turned
on. We originally thought it had something to do with our APC UPS but we
have fully tested the UPS and it is fine. This happens even when the
server
is completely off of the UPS. I am hoping for help. If you need any more
information I would be glad to supply it. Thank you all very much.
