Re: DCPromo Error

Hi Luke,

Thanks for updating.

After researching your MPS Report and logs, I found the Event ID1058 and
1030. Obviously that's related to your problem. Please try the following
steps to see if the problem can be resolved.

1. Make sure that the TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service is started on the SBS
Server. To verify that the TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper service is running on a
Windows Server 2003-based computer, follow these steps:
a. Click "Start", point to "Administrative Tools", and then click
"Services".
b. In the "Services" list, click "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper". Verify that the
value under the "Status" column is "Started". Verify that the value under
the "Startup Type" column is "Automatic".

If the "Status" or the "Startup Type" values are not correct, follow these
steps:
a) Right-click "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper", and then click "Properties".
b) In the "Startup type" list, click "Automatic".
c) In the "Service status" area, if the service is not started, click
"Start".
d) Click "OK".

2. Please also make sure that the Distributed File System service is
started. You can check this as step 1.

3. Check the contents and the permissions of the C:\windows\sysvol\Sysvol
folder. Ensure System account has full control on the folder.

Hope above information helps.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)
