Blech. Can't guarantee all clients received update the same day, as not
everyone follows instructions and leaves their computers on when asked to do
so, not to mention laptops that were out of the office during that time (and
those that are still out). Thanks for the info and the link, I'll muddle
through this maze as best I can and send a global email notifying users to
double-check their calendars. <sigh>
Maybe they'll change DST again next year and we'll get to play this game
again <grin>

It's not that you shouldn't have to ...you may not want to as it may move
appointments that you've made after the patching.
That 2 p.m indicates it's now off. Run the Outlook rebasing tool against
one mailbox and see if you like running it willy nilly against mailboxes
that you don't know for certain their appointment.

"iii. MSExTmz_1.ini: This is the .ini file from which settings will be
pulled for the actual calendar update. On the line called CommandLine,
append the following switch: /ONLYCREATEDPREPATCH:2007-02-17T12:00:00Z -
What this will do is only change the time on appointments that have been
created before the date set here. In this example, I have used the date of
February 17th, 2007, which is about when all the clients in this
organization had the KB931836 patch installed. If you suspect that there
is a wide variety of install dates for this patch in your organization,
using this switch may not be the best idea. But if you do not use it, any
new appointments created SINCE the KB931836 patch was installed will be
incorrectly changed. So you have to decide which is worse."

Hi all,
I know there are numerous posts on this subject and I believe I've read
all of them, however I'm still a bit confused. Looking in the Update
manager on the SBS R2 box, I see that KBs 913836 for XP and 2003, and
926666 for Exchange have been completed - but I do not see changes in the
calendars on the clients. For instance I have recurring weekly
"appointments" (actually tasks that I want reminders on) which run on
Thursday and Friday at 1 PM. For this week they are 1 PM, for next week
they are 2 PM. Do I need to run the tzmove on all the clients? Reading
Susan Bradley's response to Roger (thread " Re: Sorry, more DST
questions...") she states I should not have to run this tool (as the
Exchange update was applied last weekend.
Susan's post:
<snip>
The tzmove should be done soon after the patches were applied otherwise
you will move appointments made after the patch was done. It's actually
better now to NOT use the move tool or if you do, use the /flag that
tries to find the appointments made after the 17th.
<snip>
Do I need to run this or not? What's the /flag?
I'm SO confused!
TIA,
SusanV
