RE: Windows FAX service

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for updating.

I am sorry for the delay for being out of office.

After research on the MPS Report, I found fax many Event ID: 32087. This
may caused the issue.

Based on my research, this issue can occur if the Authentication type has
been set to "Integrated Windows Authentication". The default Authentication
type should be "Anonymous access".

To probably configure the Fax Delivery Recipients, please check the
following options:

1. Open Server Management Console.
2. Right-click Shared Fax, Select "Properties", select "Receipts" tab.
3. Check \Message Box\Enable Message Boxes as receipts.
4. Make sure "Enable SMTP Receipts e-mail receipts delivery" is enabled.
5. The value in "From e-mail address" should be
SBSFaxService@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For example, SBSFaxService@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
6. Server address should be the Netbios name of your SBS 2K3 server, such
as SBS2K3.
7. Port is 25.
8. Authentication: only check ''Anonymous access''.
9. Check mark in "Use these SMTP Settings for the Route through E-mail
incoming routing method"
10. Restarted Shared Fax service

Also, please let me know if you can open the attachments file type
successfully from the SBS server.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)
