Re: Roaming Profiles prevent Folder redirect from working

Thank you for your reply - it took me awhile to get to implementing
this, so sorry for the delay. i will answer your requests in order...
Just an FYI - the roaming profile is working fine for this one
user(too good) b/c it redirects ALL the folders to the profile path.
The FOLDER REDIRECT is where the snag is. Somewhere (on the server I
believe) needs to change a setting for just this one user. Can I
"force" the updates or refresh the GP somehow to recognize this?

FYI - I used the GP edit directly to redirect the Application Data and
Desktop data to \\AECSERVER\FolderRedirect. I also made the redirect
there as well fo rthe My Documents, but redirected that to the \
\AECSERVER\Users folder. AS I SAID earlier, this works flawlessly
for all other users.

It is only b/c I used this users account to "test" various options
before identifying the above procedure as the one i wanted to
implement for all users. Now, i can't get THIS ONE USER's account to
cooperate. That is why I believe this one account needs to be reset
or find where I can manually make the change in GP or wherever!

The Event Log registers these two errors
Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. A message
that describes the reason for this was previously logged by the policy
engine. Event 1030

(occurs frequently) Don't know WHERE to find this "logged" reason.???

Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed to contact
the active directory (0x8007054b). The specified domain either does
not exist or could not be contacted. Event 15

(not a recent event code)

DID NOT run the last program - thought this info would be helpful
befire I went that far...

1. When a good user log on the problem computer, will the same problem
occur?

All is well with other users logging onto problematic PC, everything
works as it should (both roaming profiles and redirects)

2. When the problematic user logon to other workstation, will the same
issue occur?

YES

3. How did you create the user account and computer account? Did you
use the wizard in the Server Management?

YES

Please take the following steps to narrow down this issue:

Step 1: Make a clean boot. The problem may be caused by some third
party software.

1. Click Start->Run...->type msconfig and press Enter.
2. Click Services tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services and
Disable All third party Services.
3. Click Startup tab and Disable All startup items.
4. Click OK and choose Restart.
5. After reboot, check whether the problem still occurs.
6. If there are no more problems, please use the above steps to enable
services and startup items one by one in order to figure out the root
cause of this issue.

NO IMPROVEMENT

Step 2: Run gpupdate /force on the problematic computer, and then
check if the problem still exist.

Step 3: Check the NTFS permission and share folder permissions of the
